It is not a new topic...You have been learning about plants previously, so it is going to be easy.

This week all you have to do is:

1. Watch this video paying a lot of attention.

2. Write a Title: PLANTS on a new page on your notebook and copy the information from the video presentation.
3. Copy the diagram of a plant cell. You can find it in the video presentation.
4. Do the two activities at the end of the video presentation.

Please, let me know about your work by e-mail or by Whatsapp.

SCIENCE 5TH LEVEL. SEMANA DEL 23 AL 27 DE MARZO

Dear students:

Here we are again!

We can find two different pathways in our circulatory system:
·       PULMONARY CIRCULATION: It is a short loop (circuito) from the heart to the lungs and back again to the heart.
·       SYSTEMIC CIRCULATION: carries blood from the heart to all the other parts of the body and back again to the heart.
One complete heartbeat (latido) in made up of two phases:
·       1st.- SYSTOLE: this is when the ventricles contract and pump blood into the aorta and pulmonary arteries.
·       2nd.- DIASTOLE: this is when the atrioventricular valves open and the ventricules relax. This allow the ventricles to fill with blood from the atria(aurículas) and get ready for the next heartbeat.

THIS WEEK you have to complete a concept map about the systems we have been learning about during the course.

But FIRST you must finish your notes about the circulatory system.

You have to copy this model and complete it in your notebook.

Hello dear students!

You must stay at home during a few days... but you are not on holidays!

So it is important to continue working and learning.

During this first week you have to perform some activities related to the Excretory System.

The first thing you need to do is writing a title on your Science notebook: The Urinary System. And  stick the diagram about the urinay system I gave you in class. Here you can find a picture.

At the next page in your notebook you have to copy this information and perform the activities you can find at the end.

THE EXCRETORY SYSTEM

The excretory system is made up of the urinary system and the sweat glands.
  • The urinary system consists of the kidneys, ureters, bladder and the urethra
  • The purpose of the urinary system is to eliminate waste from the body and clean our blood.
  • Kidneys are the responsible for the formation of urine, (pee), and the regulation of water balance in the body.
  • Ureters transport urine from the kidneys to the bladder.
  • Urinary bladder is a reservoir that holds the urine until it is expelled from the body.
  • Urethra transports urine out of the body.
  • It is important not to hold or pee for a longer period as it might cause certain complications.

Activity 1
Copy the text of this presentation in your notebook next to the diagram I gave you in class. Use different colours and underline the important words.

Activity 2
Look for the red words in a dictionary and copy their meanings in your notebook.

Activity 3
To finish the activites of the week, you must watch this video and write in Spanish a short summary explaining how the urinary system works.

Next week you could find new activities... See you soon!
